Direct Vision Standard

Make sure you’re Direct Vision Compliant with our DVS Compliance packages.

The Direct Vision standard was put in place to help make UK streets safer for cyclists and pedestrians. It measures how much an HGV driver can actually see through their windows and determines whether extra mirrors or cameras are needed to ensure the safety of the general public.

The Direct Vision Standard works on a star rating system based on what is directly visible to the driver in the cab without the need for additional mirrors.

If your HGV vehicle doesn’t have good direct vision (at least one star), you will receive a £550 fine.

Here’s where we can help:

Here at HD Satellite & Security Ltd, we take safety and security very seriously and will advise on the correct cameras and equipment for your HGV vehicle to ensure you remain compliant in accordance with the Direct Vision Standard.

We will assess your HGV vehicle and perform a check on your visibility as a driver and how best to improve this. After initial checks, we will advise the cameras and equipment to install to satisfy the Direct Vision Standard.

No need to come to us, we will come out to your site and fit any cameras and equipment at your convenience. You will then be able to apply for your HGV Safety permit to avoid any unwanted fines in the future.

HD Satellite & Security Ltd have been providing safety and security systems throughout the UK for over 10 years, so you can rest assured that you’ll be dealing with a reputable company that prides itself on fantastic customer service.
